The VNA is seeking a Mobile Unit Manager to oversee the successful operation of the VNA mobile unit, "Healthcare on Wheels"; supervising staff, preparing budgets, researching, developing and submitting grant proposals for the operation of the unit; monitoring performance and working with other departments to promote usage of the mobile unit; working with the IRCPHD and other community agencies to increase the level of care in Indian River County.



  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of the mobile unit, including determining qualifications, duties and responsibilities of the ARNP staff and clerk drivers. 
  • Arranges for orientation of newly appointed mobile unit staff following agency policy and procedures. Monitors performance and evaluates appropriately. 
  • Develops Mobile Unit budget and monitors monthly financial statements and variances to budget. 
  • Prepares and maintains mobile unit policy and procedures manual, including checklists for clerk drivers. Oversees and arranges for periodic maintenance of the mobile unit. Orders parts and supplies as needed. 
  • Prepares and submits nursing protocols for all ARNP staff on the unit as they come due. Works with Medical Director to ensure protocols are up to date and follow Board of Nursing and Board of Medicine guidelines. Also prepares and administers performance reviews for all mobile unit staff on an annual basis. 
  • Works with the Chief Quality Compliance Office to maintain a high level of quality and corporate compliance for the mobile unit staff to meet quarterly for quality review. Responsible for arranging for CLIA license and mobile unit licenses and registration. Monitors driving records for mobile unit personnel. 
  • Prepares outcome data for the President/CEO and IRCHD, attending meetings as required. Represents the VNA Mobile Unit at various community functions. Meets as needed with the IRCPHD, Treasure Coast Medical Center and other health care professionals to increase cooperative health care among agencies in Indian River County. Works in collaboration with Health Department on Heart to Heart grant.


Shall be a graduate of an approved school of nursing and possess current licensure as an ARNP in the state of Florida.
