The VNA is seeking an Associate Health & Wellness ARNP to join our team. The primary role  of this position is to provide general health care and wellness to all associates of the VNA; providing these duties in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act and comply with all VNA policies and procedures, including HIPAA and other applicable regulations.. Analyze develop and promote health and wellness strategies and initiatives that align with the Human Resource strategy to Attract, Develop and Retain a highly talented and productive workforce. A representative of management is expected to supervise and provide oversight for the utilization and operation of the VNA Mobile Unit, and interact with the Indian River County Hospital Tax District (IRCHD).



  • Perform non-invasive physical examinations and specific health measures, to associates about health and wellness related treatment, medications, and follow-up care, in order to promote, educate, monitor and achieve desired health and wellness outcomes
  • Initiate and document client records, from admittance to discharge, and including but not limited to examination findings, and formulated plan and prognosis of client’s condition.   Maintain records, including prescribing or recommending drugs and medication, and PHI and HIPAA information  according to VNA, State and Federal guidelines and regulations
  • Promote associate education through programs, events and strategies to increase health and wellness awareness to achieve improved health and wellness outcomes
  • Provide clinical expertise for the new hire and on-boarding process and Worker’s Compensation cases following the guidelines and expectations of the VP of Human Resources. 
  • Lead the Infection Control Committee to ensure a safe and healthy workforce while minimizing potential risk to VNA associates and patients.  In the AHWS ARNP role, the emphasis is raising awareness and containment within the associate population with emphasis on patient containment rests on the clinical staff.
  • Present pertinent information as needed or requested, e.g., General New Hire Orientation, staff meetings, board meetings and IRCHD to inform, update and educate on services, trends, results and strategy
  • Administer specific vaccinations and tests such as the Hepatitis B Vaccination, flu shot, and/or Fit Test as needed
  • Plan, prepare and monitor the AHWS budget and provide oversight for Mobile Unit budget under the direction of VP of Human Resources, Finance and IRCHD
    Develop, prepare, and maintain AHWS policy and procedures and related program and committee documentation, to track and comply with VNA and regulatory requirements
  • Plan, order and maintain appropriate materials and supplies, including medications as needed. Safeguard all medications in a secure location at all times (no controlled substances are to be kept/prescribed from the AHWS)
  • Ensure all Board of Nursing and Board of Medicine guidelines are met; prepare and submit nursing protocol to Human Resources in accordance to state licensure renewal; provide protocol to VNA Medical Director as needed
  • Operate under the prescribed protocols established by the designated Medical Director for the VNA. Consult with Medical Director and other clinical resources as needed for complex care situations and unresolved patient medical concerns.  
  • Administrator with oversight for AED program.  Follow AED plan.
  • Represent VNA in community; build and maintain relations to achieve AHWS as well as VNA objectives.  Assist with all health promotions via Marketing department as needed
  • Lead and/or participate in various meetings or committees as assigned; e.g., emergency management, safety, manager meeting
  • Prepare reports, presentations, proposals, outcome data and statistics as required.


  • Current ARNP license in the State of Florida; minimum 1 year experience as an ARNP;
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS); CPR
  • Family Nurse Practitioner experience preferred
  • Minimum 1 year management/supervisory or work direction experience
