    The Visiting Nurse Association is seeking Companions to work with our Private Duty division to provide assistance for our clients in the client home. A typical day will include assistance with everyday tasks that allows for independent living. Such services could include meal preparation, medication reminders, laundry, light housekeeping, respite care and/or escorting/driving clients for shopping, appointments and errands. The ideal candidate will be dependable and must be able to work independently to carry out the specific duties assigned in accordance with agency guidelines.

    Responsibilities

    1. Provides companionship with excellent customer service skills to the patient by performing duties such as; reading, talking, listening, related communication and psycho social activities.
    2. Provides light housekeeping tasks such as meal preparation, dishwashing, laundering patient's personal garments, linen change, and dusting and vacuuming client's room.
    3. Provices transportation for patient to doctors' appointments, errands, etc.
    4. Maintains a record of services.
    5. Reports unusual incidents or changes in the patient's behavior to the RN Primary Nurse.
    6. Must have telephone so agency can contact you 

    Qualifications

    • Must have high school diploma/GEDP
    • Proof of current automobile insurance
    • Reliable transportation
    • Valid driver's license.
