    *This is a 20 hour/week part time position. Hours will increase as needed during flu season.

     

    We are looking for someone to join the VNA family who has a passion for public health and education and enjoys being in the community as a champion of community wellness. We want someone who loves interacting with the public and has the organizational and leadership skills to lead, cultivate and grow the Community Wellness program.

    Community wellness serves as an important role at the VNA. We have many seniors who loyally show up to the monthly clinics for a free blood pressure check or wait to get their flu shot with the VNA. Our community wellness program currently serves Indian River and Brevard counties. It’s part of our mission and has been a common thread through our 40-year history of being a community-minded healthcare organization.

    Responsibilities

    The Community Wellness manager will oversee the various aspects of the program including:

    Monthly Wellness Clinics:

    • Plans and coordinates monthly free blood pressure/blood sugar clinics for our community partners
    • Ensures adequate staffing to cover scheduled monthly screening clinics
    • Keeps an inventory of supplies and educational materials for nurses
    • Looks for more community partners to establish clinics in Indian River and Brevard counties

    Flu Vaccination Program:

    • Plans and coordinates flu vaccination clinics
    • Seeks flu clinic sites, maintains schedule and adequately staffs clinics during flu season (September – December)
    • Collaborates with other departments and champions employee flu vaccination initiative
    • Develops and implements outcome measures of the program

    Community Outreach & Education:

    • Responsible for community relations outreach by searching for speaking opportunities for speaking engagements based on VNA services and/or health related topics
    • Participates in health fairs and community events

    Promoting Our Wellness Programs:

    • Works closely with the Marketing & Communications Department to execute outcome-based marketing and communications plans for the Community Wellness program
    • Ensures that marketing materials for all clinics and presentations are up-to-date
    • Train community wellness nurses on VNA services

    Qualifications

     What we’re looking for:

     

    We are looking for a motivated, self-directed individual who is will take the initiative on developing new relationships within our community. We want someone who is focused on customer service and possesses a friendly, outgoing personality.

     

    RN or LPN preferred. Experience working with computer systems such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
