    The VNA is seeking a full time Volunteer & Bereavement Coordinator to Perform a variety of administrative duties relating to agency volunteer management and bereavement department support. Maintain records as appropriate, including those of confidential nature related to role. Perform a variety of duties to ensure Hospice and/or Bereavement events are appropriately planned and organized.


    • Coordinate volunteer application process and work with Human Resources in the background screening of all volunteers to ensure compliance with Florida Law and VNA policies
    • Serve as back-up to Hospice Volunteer Coordinator in making assignments for volunteers with families, nursing homes and hospice house.    
    • Provide administrative and volunteer relations support to agency volunteers including Hidden Treasures Thrift Store volunteers.
    • Assist in volunteer orientation and training.
    • Maintain volunteer personnel files and volunteer management software profiles.
    • Provide administrative support to social work and bereavement teams.
    • Maintain bereavement database for survivor information.
    • Prepare monthly and weekly mailings to survivors. Send cards and letters to bereaved families for 14 months preceding the death.  Process and research return mail for bereavement.
    • Coordinate bereavement volunteer program by organizing volunteer visits with bereavement clients and document progress notes.
    • Restock and edit bereavement program fliers and information under the direction of the bereavement supervisor as needed
    • Order books and literature for bereavement department staff as needed.
    • Assist planning and organizing all bereavement events including Camp Chrysalis (2 times per year), Ceremony of Remembrance (2 times per year), and one yearly bereavement event.
