    The VNA is seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist - Content Marketing to develop and executive marketing content to target our existing and future audiences. This position will help increase brand awareness by producing high-quality content, executive marketing strategies, drive engagement and improve VNA's image in the community. This position will be responsible for developing targeted communications and public relations activities, writing copy based on organizational needs for use in various communication vehicles and channels.

    Responsibilities

    • Creates high quality content aimed towards our patients, community and associates through a variety of communication vehicles including patient stories, articles, brochures, social media, emails, blogs, newsletters and website content to further VNA brand.
    • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities to generate content and ideas in line with the company's brand initiatives.
    • Understands the needs and relevant information for marketing initiatives to assure organizational success through discussion and interaction with Patients, Sales, Subject Matter Experts and colleagues with the Marketing and Communications department.
    • Stays current on all issues impacting the organization by talking to all associates within the VNA.
    • Where appropriate executes Marketing and Communications strategies and plans
    • Establishes and maintains key contact with organizational leaders, board members and the patient population that we serve.
    • Manages the social media presence
    • Works with outside individuals including consultants and vendors as necessary
    • Applies latest digital marketing best practices
    • Write copy for use in the organization's communication channels (e.g., print/broadcast advertising, printed and electronic newsletters, blogs, website, social media, etc.)
    • Coordinate all aspects of VNA press release distribution (e.g., writing releases, shepherding through review and approval process, distributing releases, tracking media placements, and gathering VNA press clippings from local media, etc.)
    • Conduct research in support of VNA marketing/strategic communication programs
    • Attend required meetings and complete mandatory education by the department deadline

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, English, Communications, Marketing, or a closely related major
    • High level of written and oral communications skills
    • Strategic self starter with strong project management skills
    • Ability to work with all stakeholders with professionalism and a positive attitude
    • Experience with prior content marketing, copywriting, and journalism
    • Deep intellectual curiosity and dedication to keeping abreast of the field.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects
    • Minimum 2 years of recent Communications or writing experience
    • Experience with healthcare industry desired (home health and hospice, in particular) a plus
    • Experienced in research, interviewing, and written communication skills demonstrated through relevant clips
