The VNA is seeking a part time community health nurse/scheduling coordinator to perform both clinical and administrative functions. Clinical responsibilities include vaccine administration including in the homes of homebound individuals; and conducting health screenings at health fairs and screening clinics in a variety of settings across Indian River County.

Administrative responsibilities include scheduling and organizing vaccine and health screening clinics and managing nurses’ schedules.

 

In the role of scheduling coordinator, the individual in this role will be responsible to schedule vaccine and health screening clinic locations, and homebound vaccines – in both Indian River and Brevard counties (limited). The individual will also be responsible for creating nurses’ schedules to ensure coverage at VNA-organized community health activities. The community health nurse/scheduling coordinator will ensure efficient operations and will demonstrate VNA’s core values of Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence at work and whenever representing the VNA.

 

Responsibilities

Assist the clinical and administrative department managers with development of specialized clinics and health education sessions, with emphasis on establishing locations that will support vulnerable populations.

 

  • Function in a clinical role during scheduled health screening and vaccine clinics as directed by the clinical manager.
  • Arrange and maintain clinic schedules working as the main point of contact with clinic locations.
  • Prepare nurses’ schedules to ensure coverage for VNA-sponsored vaccine and screening clinics.
  • Conduct health education sessions one-to-one and in group settings.
  • Coordinate supplies for field nurses to ensure operational efficiencies.
  • Enter patient health and demographic data from consent forms and other documents in approved, compliant platforms including Florida Shots.
  • Maintain supply inventory.
  • Office support as needed, including copying, filing, and document scanning; assembly of department materials.
  • Copy editing and proofreading as needed.
  • Plan, organize and perform daily tasks and assignments that support Community Health Services.
  • Provide the highest levels of customer service; respond to inquiries with accurate and timely information.
  • Communicate information obtained from field work to programs leads to ensure team can respond timely and appropriately.

Qualifications

 

Skills/Abilities:

 

  • Vaccine administration experience.
  • Excellent professional communication skills via phone, e-mail, mail, and in-person.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Must be willing and able to learn all systems used by department and become proficient to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in time management.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Compliance with confidentiality, including HIPPA.
  • Compliance minded.

 

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following:

 

  • Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse with current Florida license in good standing.
  • Community health experience preferred.
  • Associate degree or above.
  • Previous experience in an office environment.
