The VNA of the Treasure Coast is seeking an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to provide general medical care and treatment to patients on the VNA Mobile Unit.

Responsibilities

 

  • Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed protocols established with the Medical Director.
  • Teaches client and significant others to accomplish goals.  Instructs clinic staff.  Provides specific instruction to clients and care givers about disease process, medications and follow-up care.
  • Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.  Initiates client records upon admittance to mobile clinic service.  Maintains records according to Agency, State and Federal guidelines.
  • Refers to appropriate health care agencies,
    providers, and human service agencies as deemed necessary.
  • Submits patient records for periodic review and evaluation by Medical Director.
  • Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment in accordance with protocols established with Medical Director.  Monitors client response to treatment.
  • Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
  • Participates in multi disciplinary conferences sometimes involving other agencies.  Collaborates with team members to find innovative solutions to client problems.  Assists in orientation of new staff nurses.  Participates in other community health projects.
  • Oversees mobile clinic staff to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services per program guidelines.  Remains flexible in expectation and able to change direction as needed.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Current ARNP license in the state of Florida
  • Must be a Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an RN
