Overview

                                                                                                               The Visiting Nurse Association is seeking a Resale Boutique Assistant Manager to work in our Hidden Treasures store. 

 

 Assist the store manager in implementing strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability.  Ensure customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service provided is quick and efficient.  Maintain store appearance and product presentation to company standards established.  Provide support to store associates and volunteers as needed, especially during peak periods or when scheduling conflicts arise.  Integrate and demonstrate the Core Values of the VNA in all aspects of work responsibilities. 

 

Responsibilities

  1. Be able to perform all duties of a sales associate, cashier, driver, and other staff positions to ensure a smooth and transparent operation to the customer. Refer to appropriate job descriptions for further detail.
  2. Assist in the development and implementation of written procedures for store operations, including opening and closing the store; handling of cash, for accepting, sorting, and pricing donations; for security and safety training, compliance and other relevant procedures for associates and volunteers, as needed to ensure an effective operation.
  3. Oversee the processing of donated items; manage the rotation of items and the disposal of donated items in a timely fashion.
  4. Train and supervise volunteers; help with retention of volunteers.
  5. Supervise associates and volunteers as indicated on the organizational chart; monitor work performance of associates and volunteers; provide timely, constructive feedback to associates and volunteers as needed to ensure compliance of processes and an effective operation.
  6. Provide input to manager about performance of associates and volunteers as needed. Work with manager on performance issues, performance improvement and other employee relations situations, including situations that may arise with volunteers and customers.
  7. Provide performance input to manager when manager is completing the Performance Evaluation process established by People & Culture.
  8. Oversee the display of merchandise inside the store to enhance the appearance and appeal of the store.
  9. Provide service to internal and external customers according to standards and ensure that associates and volunteers follow the same standards.
  10. Uphold safety guidelines, policies, best practices and safety requirements, in order to model proper safety behavior and keep all associates and customers safe and free from injury.
  11. Oversee merchandise and stock, including furniture to ensure correct pricing for prompt merchandise turnover.
  12. Facilitate scheduling, pickup and delivery of merchandise and donations, and perform pickup and delivery as needed, especially during staff shortage, increased volume, and to accommodate donor and driver time.
  13. Close out and balance the cash register and make bank deposits following store and agency procedures.
  14. Create displays, including signage for sale and upcoming events; dress mannequins when needed.
  15. Participate in the hiring, training and supervision of associates.
  16. Work collaboratively with the following departments to enhance operations and promote the work of the VNA
  17. . Fill in for manager during vacations, leave of absence, staffing or emergency needs.

 

 

Qualifications

 

                                                                                              Experience in resale/consignment operations a plus.

  • Minimum two years related experience in a service industry, retail or resale/consignment operation
