Under the direction of the Director of Development this position is responsible for executing all digital marketing and social media aspects for the Foundation including the creation of Facebook, Instagram and monthly enewsletter content, assisting with and or coordinating all Foundation events including our only annual fundraiser, the Golf-A-Thon, will assist the Board Support Coordinator with all Board and Committee meeting coordination, facilitation, reporting and completion of the minutes. This position will also be cross trained in the gift entry process including the production of donor gift acceptance, acknowledgment letters, and data tracking, as well as being responsible for daily tasks such as patient data entry into the Donor Management System.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Director of Development and the Principal Gift Officer in cultivating and stewarding strong relationships with major donors including assisting with the major donor recognition program including timely and appropriate communication with and recognition of donors. 
  2. Will assist with securing venues, meals etc. as needed for events and donor meetings and assist in managing VNA & Hospice Foundation events including our only annual fundraiser
  3. Assist in the identification and cultivation of donors, corporate donors, steward and develop current relationships to maximize support for VNA programs, annual and capital fund giving.
  4. Responsible for maintaining public relations strategies that interface with traditional and digital media to promote Foundation and VNA community awareness. Includes collaborating with VNA and Hospice Foundation staff to ensure digital media remains consistent across all endeavors.
  5. Maintain the e-mail database in Constant Contact and update the Raiser’s Edge database as necessary.
  6. Develop concepts, develop stories and create digital materials to be used across platforms, including gathering and writing testimonials, writing impact stories, creating graphics for articles/posts and all other content creation tasks for distribution via e-mail or social media. Coordinate with VNA Associates across service lines to find relevant content that will resonate with our intended audience.
  7. Work with community partners to assist with fundraising efforts through small partner events, such as Sip & Shops, to raise awareness and funding for the agency.
  8. Assist the Director of Development with the only annual fundraiser, the Golf-A-Thon.
  9. As needed will assist Board Support Coordinator to facilitate VNA & Hospice Foundation and VNA TC Board and Committee meetings including, ordering of meals and snacks, room setup and cleanup, collecting meeting materials from multiple sources, creation of meeting agendas and transcribing of meeting minutes.
  10. When necessary, will ensure all gifts are receipted in a timely manner. When needed will complete daily gift reconciliation of deposits from Finance, online gifts and credit cards against Raisers Edge input and manage all aspects of donor acknowledgement including accessing lists, merging, processing and mailing of donor acknowledgment letters.
  11. Responds to donor and volunteer inquiries in a prompt and courteous manner.
  12. Maintains and updates donor database as needed, reporting timely and accurately.
  13. Maintains donor confidentiality and ensures compliance with related policies.
  14. Coordinates special projects and fundraising activities as needed.
  15. Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 1 year of relevant experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years’ work experience managing projects and relationships.
  • Experience with Raisor’s Edge donor data software preferred; experience with at least one donor data software system preferred.
  • Nonprofit development experience preferred.
